Initial laboratory results from MFC tests using swine waste indicated that improvements to
power output could be achieved with a carbon-fabric pleats design when compared to a
previous packed bed design. An 88-liter pilot scale demonstration system was developed
based on these results that allowed for full system operation in an energy neutral
