LA-based Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy say their best advice came from Anna Wintour.
“When we first met her, we said, ‘Well, do you think we need to move to New York [to be in fashion]?’” they recall of the Vogue icon on an upcoming episode of Refinery29’s “UnStyled” podcast.
“She looked at our stuff and said, ‘You know, I can tell what you do is really personal and you’re going to need to keep it that way.’ That’s what we’ve done the whole time. I think it’s the best advice anyone’s ever given.”
