‘La La Land’ jazz club will be real for at least one night

Award season may be over, but that doesn’t mean the “La La Land” promotional blitz has to end.

Coinciding with the movie’s Blu-ray and DVD release on Tuesday, April 25, jazz clubs around the country will transform themselves into Seb’s, the jazz club owned by Ryan Gosling’s character Sebastian at the end of the critically acclaimed film, reports Entertainment Weekly.

Participating bars include Andy’s Jazz Club in Chicago, New Orleans’ d.b.a., Mr. Henry’s in Washington, DC, San Francisco’s Le Colonial and The Blind Donkey in Long Beach, which actually stood in for Seb’s during the filming of the movie.

According to EW, turning the establishments into the club of Sebastian’s dreams will including putting up a full-size neon Seb’s sign, serving themed drinks and live music.

But that’s not the only way the Oscar-winning flick will be feted on the 25th. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has declared next Tuesday “‘La La Land’ Day.”
