Cult band LCD Soundsystem’s recent sold-out residency at Brooklyn Steel was plagued by scammers.
A source told us that fans of the band headed by James Murphy fell for counterfeit tickets from third-party sellers.
One Craigslist post warned during the band’s five-night stand: “There were at least 2 dozen people turned away,” at one show.
“Raised ink, bad background, identical barcode. Let my mistake prevent yours,” tweeted one bummed fan.
A Bowery Presents rep told us of the snafu: “We are very frustrated and sad to learn that [fans were] being taken advantage of through the sale of counterfeit tickets.”
One fan who made it inside was Macaulay Culkin — in a top hat.
