Kathleen Turner sings at Broadway Backwards AIDS benefit

Kathleen Turner, who has a remarkably deep singing voice, performed at the annual Broadway Backwards AIDS benefit, where men sing songs for traditionally female roles, and vice versa.

Len Cariou (the first Sweeney Todd) sang “I’m Still Here,” which was originally sung in “Follies” by Yvonne De Carlo, and Turner, making her singing debut, did “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face,” which Rex Harrison sang in “My Fair Lady.”

The “Body Heat” actress told the story of her first meeting with the similarly deep-voiced Lauren Bacall, who said, “Oh, you’re the new me.”
