Stefano Tonchi called out celebrity “bad behavior” at Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars gala.
The W editor honored Tory Burch, whom he called a “nonconformist” because she doesn’t go in for of-the-moment edgy fashion or fake friends.
“In a sea of celebrities in designer gowns,” Tonchi said that Burch can be seen with friends “she’s had for 20 years,” not a “BFF from 20 minutes ago wearing a borrowed outfit.”
He added that Burch has stayed true to her path as fashion has gone toward tattoos, leather, studs and “celebrity artists showing their bad behavior and bad looks.”
Burch joked she might have a tattoo, but would not reveal it from the stage.
