Marcus Mumford does daddy duty

It was Mumford and daughter on Monday night when Mumford & Sons lead singer Marcus Mumford was left to care for his 3-week-old baby girl, sources said, while his movie-star wife, Carey Mulligan, attended the New York premiere of her “Suffragette.”

“Marcus was at the hotel baby-sitting,” said a spy. Mulligan — who’d largely kept her pregnancy under wraps as speculation swirled — only revealed her daughter’s name, Evelyn, on the red carpet at the Paris Theatre.

Before the film co-starring Meryl Streep began, Mulligan raced back to her hotel, and later skipped an after-party.

When we asked Mulligan what advice she’ll give her new bundle of joy, she quipped, “Oh, God . . . that is hard. Okay, I’ve got it! No makeup, no piercings and no tattoos!”

She and Evelyn, are next headed with the film to the Mill Valley Film Festival in California.

Also at the Manhattan screening of the feminist period piece were Queen Noor of Jordan, Candace Bushnell, Kelly Rutherford and five New York Jets with their GM, Mike Maccagnan.
