This “Pretty Little Liar” may want to rethink her Halloween getup.
Ashley Benson was roundly criticized for posting a photo of herself clad in a sexy Cecil the Lion-inspired costume to Instagram on Tuesday.
“Help! Can’t decide on my Halloween costume this year,” Benson, 25, wrote alongside the image. “What do you guys think of this cecil the lion costume?”
While the snap racked up over 293,000 likes, it didn’t stop fans from calling her out for being “#clueless” and “#insensitive” for referencing the beloved Zimbabwe lion killed by American dentist Walter Palmer over the summer. Following the scrutiny, the actress removed any mention of the animal from the caption.
Several celebs expressed their outrage over Cecil’s death back in July, with Mia Farrow going as far as tweeting Palmer’s actual address to her 600,000-plus followers.
