Jeff Goldblum, who moonlights as a jazz musician like his “Annie Hall” director Woody Allen, debuted his Mildred Snitzer Orchestra at Café Carlyle for a run of shows ending Saturday.
Spies at his late gig Friday said Goldblum coaxed his “The Big Chill” co-star Glenn Close into the act, handing her lyrics and asking her to join him for a rendition of a (very silly) ’40s jazz number, “The Frim-Fram Sauce.” Close gave the tune, filled with nonsense words, a reading so sultry, it concluded with a “convincingly orgasmic-sounding climax,” spies said.
Goldblum also brought stunning chanteuse Verena Wiesendanger up for two songs in French, and Ben Vereen also jumped into the act and sang.
