James Christopher Jenkins

James Christopher Jenkins

James "Jimmy" C. Jenkins was born in Alexandria, Virginia on July 28th, 1968, and unfortunately passed away at the age of 54, on Monday, January 30th, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Jenkins, and his step-mother, Dottie Jenkins. He is survived in life by his mother Patricia, his siblings Lorie, Billy, Timmy, Danny, Rusty, and Amy, and his four children - whom he loved with all of his heart - Brady, Chandler, Samantha, and Danielle.

Jimmy was an extraordinarily hard-working man and was a passionate roofer. He was the founder and operator of James Jenkins Roofing Company, and his business saw many years of success. He was a student of history. Constantly reading about the civil war and watching historical fiction movies and documentaries. He also enjoyed watching and playing sports. He coached several youth baseball teams for his sons and nephew, avidly watched the Washington Redskins and Washington Nationals games, played catch with his kids, and held wiffle ball tournaments in the backyard.

Jimmy will be fondly remembered for his ability to regale a great story. He was the kind of person who loved to make others laugh. He also had such a unique, infectious laugh that it was impossible not to join in with him. He cared very passionately about those that were close to him. His loss is felt heavily by many.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Tree Planting Timeline

Orders placed in:

January - May

Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.

June - December

Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
