The 15 worst Golden Globe fashion fails

With the 72nd Golden Globes quickly approaching, celebs are busy making last-minute adjustments to their red-carpet get-ups. And while there are bound to be plenty of style smashes, we’re willing to bet money we’ll see a handful of misses as well.

Before tuning in to the main event Sunday night, let’s take a walk down memory lane with the 15 worst Golden Globe ensembles — ever.

Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone attempted to make biker chic a “thing” at the 2003 Golden Globes. Unfortunately, this ensemble was more suitable for a dive bar, not the red carpet.

Beyoncé

Even Queen Bey makes mistakes sometimes. For the 2003 ceremony, the “Drunk in Love” songstress put on her favorite high school prom dress and a few dazzlers to spice things up. While the jewels were gorgeous, Beyoncé should have left this piece in her closet.

Lara Flynn Boyle

Ballerinas are meant for the stage, not the red carpet. Lara Flynn Boyle didn’t get the memo when she hit the Globes in 2003 dressed like a dancer on her way to a recital. Tulle is best used for ball gowns at an event like this, not tutus.

Diane Keaton

Diane Keaton may have been one of the big winners of the Globes in 2004, taking home the prize for best actress in a comedy for “Something’s Gotta Give,” but her questionable style was another story.

The acclaimed actress donned a white-on-white coat and gown, with heels and gloves in the same shade. Even the pristine pearls couldn’t revive this mess.

Nicole Kidman

It’s hard to miss the mark in a piece crafted by Tom Ford, but Nicole Kidman managed to do just that in this flapper-gone-wrong ensemble. From the gold details to the unique neckline, Kidman’s look from the 2004 festivities was far from one of her finest.

Diane Kruger

There’s no question Diane Kruger is one of the most stylish stars around, but for her first Golden Globes in 2005, the “Bridge” actress made a major misstep in Marchesa. Speaking to the Huffington Post, Kruger explained that though she loved the dress, it wasn’t meant to be worn that night.

Cameron Diaz

It’s a good thing Cameron Diaz didn’t walk down the aisle in this disaster of a dress. The newlywed wore an overdone Valentino gown to the Golden Globes in 2007, looking every bit a bride’s worst nightmare.

Renée Zellweger

Trying gothic over glam this time, the “Bridget Jones” actress looked dreadfully dreary in a pre-fall Carolina Herrera piece at the 2009 ceremony.

Helena Bonham Carter

You didn’t expect to get through this list without seeing one of Helena Bonham Carter’s ridiculous Globes dresses, did you? The newly single star mismatched her stilettos as she made her way to the 2011 ceremony in a colorful frock — and dark sunglasses.

Lea Michele

Queen Elsa from “Frozen” may be considered the original ice princess, but here, that moniker belongs to Lea Michele.

The “Glee” starlet attempted to make a sleek statement at the 2012 Golden Globes, but the Marchesa number is more “meh” than marvelous. Maybe it’s best to just let this look go.

Tilda Swinton

Sky blue hues are red carpet favorites, but Tilda Swinton’s turn in the pastel shade isn’t exactly stunning. From the tailored jacket to the simple sheath underneath, Swinton’s style at the 2012 ceremony was forgettable, to say the least.

Lucy Liu

Floral frocks are hard to rock, and unfortunately, Lucy Liu’s ball gown failed to bloom. The pattern was not appealing, and the dress nearly swallowed the “Elementary” star whole during the 2013 festivities.

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock can pull off any trend — except colorblocking. For the 2014 Golden Globes, Bullock donned a Prabal Gurung piece meshing black, blue and magenta hues that didn’t click in the slightest.

Paula Patton

There’s an old saying that simplicity is key, but it seems Paula Patton didn’t understand that philosophy before walking the red carpet at the 2014 ceremony.

Robin Thicke’s bombshell ex stole the show — for all the wrong reasons — in an outrageous Stephane Rolland Couture dress boasting an elaborate ruffle side piece.

Zoe Saldana

Sandra Bullock isn’t the only celeb on this list who made a fashion faux pas in Prabal Gurung. New mom Zoe Saldana attempted to work multiple looks in one as she sported an over-the-top frock at the 2014 ceremony.
