Attorney Cummings continued her forensic science in Iraq and Afghanistan. She served her country by deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom as a forensic scientist. She processed Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) to recover fingerprints and other forensic information aid in the War. She went into the battlefield and forensically evaluated the collected items for trace evidence, DNA, fingerprints, and other evidence via the use of powers, chemicals, and alternate light sources. She also testified as an expert on crime scenes.
Attorney Cummings has certification as a P.O.S.T. Identification Technician, Field Training Officer, and Instructor. She has successfully completed classes in Latent Fingerprint Identification, Latent Fingerprint Classification, Latent Fingerprint Development, Crime Scene Photography, DNA collection, Trace Evidence collection, Marijuana Identification, and numerous others.
