GBA Postdoctoral Competition ignites talent

On July 3, the 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was grandly launched at the permanent venue of the Guangzhou Nansha International Financial Forum (IFF).

The competition aims to inspire the innovative and entrepreneurial potential of doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, promote the transformation of research outcomes, cultivate outstanding young talents, accelerate industrial upgrading, and foster high-quality economic and social development.

The competition features three categories: Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Challenge Topic Competition. Over 1,000 teams of doctoral and postdoctoral researchers have signed up to participate. Additionally, the competition's expert guidance committee, comprising 15 distinguished academicians and nine industry experts, is set up to provide professional guidance and facilitate the practical application of research results.

Guangdong province is expected to take the competition as a leading initiative to strengthen the construction of high-level talent teams, continuously improve the talent policy system for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers and support the development of key core technology talent teams to.

In recent years, Nansha has supported the construction of platforms for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, establishing the GBA Postdoctoral Science and Technology Innovation (Nansha) Public Research Center. This effort has led to the training of over 220 postdoctoral researchers in more than 40 local enterprises and institutions, with a total of 38 doctoral and postdoctoral research platforms in the district.
