Nick Carter is the latest in a long list of men in Hollywood accused of sexual assault.

Melissa Schuman, formerly of the pop group Dream, accused the Backstreet Boys singer of raping her when she was 18 and he was 22.

Dream became popular in the early 2000s with songs including "He Loves U Not" and "This Is Me."

In a Nov. 18 post on her blog, Melissa Explains It All, Schuman said that she and Carter were both cast for the same TV show, and she was invited to his apartment on a day off.

She says they started drinking and ended up kissing before he took her hand and led her to the bathroom.

"He then pick [sic] me up, put me on the bathroom counter and started to unbutton my pants. I told him I didn’t want to go any further. He didn’t listen," said Schuman in her post. "He took off my pants anyway."

Schuman then goes into detail, saying Carter performed oral sex on her and later took her into his bedroom where he allegedly raped her.

"I wanted to believe it was some sort of nightmare I was dreaming up," Schuman added in the post.

Carter's rep sent a statement from the singer to Mashable on Wednesday:

I am shocked and saddened by Ms. Schuman’s accusations. Melissa never expressed to me while we were together or at any time since that anything we did was not consensual. We went on to record a song and perform together, and I was always respectful and supportive of Melissa both personally and professionally. This is the first that I am hearing about these accusations, nearly two decades later. It is contrary to my nature and everything I hold dear to intentionally cause someone discomfort or harm.

The now 33-year-old Schuman says back then she decided against coming forward because she was told by her manager that Carter had the most "powerful litigator in the country."

She later decided to speak out after she saw a recent article on RadarOnline that said another victim had come forward accusing Carter of sexual assault.

Many online were stunned by the news.

Schuman later took to Twitter saying she was finally "free."

In 2004, Carter was accused of beating up his then girlfriend, Paris Hilton, a charge which he has denied.

“I’ll tell you one thing: I didn’t touch her,” the singer had told People. “I’m not that kind of guy. I would never do that.”
