Child's guardian On The Run after alleged attack

San Antonio — The Bexar County Sheriff's Office needs your help finding 70-year-old Refugio Rodriguez, who is wanted for assault family violence- choking/strangulation. The original incident occurred in August of 2022 when law enforcement was dispatched to Santa Rosa Hospital for an injured child.

The juvenile victim reported that she had run away after being repeatedly physically assaulted by her two guardians. The reporting officer noted that the victim had injuries to her forearm, shoulder, neck, and a scabbed injury to the top of her head. The victim said the injuries were from an outburst she had with her guardian. The victim alleges that one of the suspect guardians grabbed the victim by the hair and swung her by her hair, causing her to fall into the restroom and causing multiple injuries. Following that assault, Rodriguez is reported to have grabbed the victim by her neck with enough force that the victim could not breathe.

In fear of more abuse, the juvenile ran away from home and later reported the assault. Refugio Rodriguez is 5’11 and weighs 200 pounds. He is known to hang out in northwest San Antonio.
