Remember when everyone was worried that Netflix was about to drop The X-Files? Thankfully, that never happened, and now comes word that the first 13 episodes of the series are now available in HD, reports The Verge. Even better, the new high quality versions of each episode suggest that the series was originally shot in widescreen, before being cropped for TV, so there’s nothing for the purists to get mad about. Why only the first 13 episodes? No one really know, but hopefully it’s a sign that the whole series will get the treatment before a new slate of episodes debut later this year.
