Packaging terrible, product good
I had to reorder a 2nd time because the first pitcher came in a small bag that was busting open on the top. The pitcher was both scratched AND cracked.The 2nd came in an OVERSIZED box with one piece of packing paper & the pitcher wasn’t in its already minimal package. Pitcher has 2 decent scratches, (one is over an inch the other was a circular scratch just smaller than the size of a dime).I decided to keep it because who knows what surprises would come with a 3rd attempt.The pitcher:Good size. Not too heavy for my weak wrists. I keep it on the counter for room temp water. It’s kept next to the sink for easy access refills.Set up was decent. After washing the pitcher before first use, the filter pops in super easy. You need a little time to fill & dump the pitcher 3 times before you can drink the water. I do it while tackling another task (cooking dinner, cleaning… so it doesn’t seem as tedious).I like that the Elite filter (blue filter) is stated to last 6 months. Here’s hoping. There’s a sensor that lights up to help you keep track of filter life, but I put the date on a piece of masking tape, craftily placed on the pitcher. It’s a trust issue with whatever battery is in there.No leaks, works well, water tastes good & looks kinda cute on my counter. I’m happy to NOT have to use disposable bottles.I DO wish the plastic that the pitcher is made of was a little sturdier.

The water tastes wonderful, I have to fill it several times a day for my two cats and me, doesn’t leak, has colored lights to tell when to change the filter, it filters really fast, great value for the money since it has a small filter which leaves a lot of water space in the pitcher, very ease to use, great quality and I am glad I purchased this pitcher. I had another filter pitcher, but this one holds more filter water and is easier to get the filter ready to use.

The most important piece of information I can relay to you is that if you are looking at the 10 Cup Pitcher, there are actually two different models at the same price. I picked the wrong one and it wasn't until I read a review that I realized I should have picked the newer version. Fortunately, I was able to cancel and re-order.
The newer version you want is the Pitcher with the SmartLight. You'll notice owners who just purchased their Brita ask why the indicator light is not included. The SmartLight is pretty darn important as it keeps track of the life of your filter, reminding you when it's time to replace it.
The next important piece of information I want to share is how much water can be filled in this pitcher. If you read the instructions, it tells you to fill the water to the fill line (there is a tab with a fill line in the top reservoir). If that was all you did, you would notice that you only have 6 cups of water instead of 10. What I didn't realize until I contacted Brita is that you can keep filling the Pitcher after the initial. I measured out 10 cups which took almost two fills. You'll know that you have the measurement right as the water should reside 1 inch below the round part of the top reservoir.
Inserting the Elite filter was simple. Just be certain to line up the plastic tabs in the reservoir with the slots in the filter. You should have a snug fit. Push down to make certain it's airtight.
Though the Brita is not the best-rated water filter out there (that would go to Zero Water), the new Elite filter lasts 6 months, effectively removes more contaminants than ever before, and as such, situates itself as the best bang-for-the-buck brand. Keep in mind Brita does not filter out fluoride.
As someone who is not a fan of the taste of tap water, I was extremely surprised by how good the filtered water tasted. I have finally gotten to the point where I can stop buying expensive cases of plastic bottled water every month, relying solely on my Brita pitcher.
One more thing I should add: Customer support is fantastic. I phoned to ask them about how much water can be put in the Pitcher. They answered the phone immediately and were very helpful in answering my question.
Don't hesitate to purchase this Brita Pitcher.

All I would say is there are only two of us probably not drinking enough water lol and the filter lasted 4 months.
Wish it was easier to get the replacements in the UK too - couldn't find on Amazon.
Brita UK is a different franchise and basically their water filters and jugs are a waste of time - they don't filter out any contaminants - just make the water 'taste better' whatever that means!
